Prior to joining Yuen Law LLC, Wendy Tan was with the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Law from 2007 to 2020, where she served as head of HR, Finance, Procurement and Corporate Communications. She played a pivotal role in transforming the administration of key corporate services functions, and was instrumental in the staffing and set-up of processes within each unit when the functions were decentralised.
She also led the overhaul of the Alumni Relations and Development section’s operations and developed a functional workflow for student financial aid administration. At the University level, Wendy successfully implemented improvements to finance systems through business process reengineering initiatives, as co-lead of the team tasked to review Accounts Receivables processes.
Wendy’s experience in managing a diverse scope of responsibilities on the work front and as "minister of home affairs" as a mother of three (2 human, 1 furkid) has given her in-depth working knowledge of relational, operational and administrative matters within an organisation. She believes that employees make the organisation and subscribes to Konosuke Matsushita’s “people before products” philosophy.
At Yuen Law, she aims to provide contextualised recommendations and solutions in the areas of human resources and general administration, and assist the management in effective policy formulation and strategic decision-making that will enable the organisation by first enabling the employees.

Cheryl Mok brings over a decade of invaluable experience in the legal industry to her role as the Business Development Manager at Yuen Law LLC. Since joining the firm in 2012, Cheryl has grown with Yuen Law and has been instrumental in its evolution from a one-man lawyer practice to the thriving medium-sized entity it is today.
In her early years with the firm, Cheryl's responsibilities encompassed a wide range of tasks. These included handling intellectual property and corporate secretarial matters, probate and administration affairs, to overseeing the firm’s bookkeeping and operational matters—a testament to her willingness to roll up her sleeves and tackle any challenge, much like in a startup environment.
In her current capacity, Cheryl leads the firm's business development and marketing efforts. She expands the firm's digital footprint and effectively reaches a wider audience through social media and online marketing. Cheryl strategically enhances the firm's profile through legal ranking submissions, helping Yuen Law LLC improve its position and strive to become a market leader.
Central to Cheryl's responsibilities is ensuring excellent client care. She coordinates client engagement events that foster meaningful connections, driving satisfaction and fostering lasting loyalty. Cheryl also provides guidance to the team on client care and communications.
Beyond her primary role, Cheryl actively contributes to the firm's compliance and corporate functions. She played a key role in implementing anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism policies. Moreover, Cheryl spearheaded the transition to a streamlined legal practice file management system, enhancing operational efficiency across the firm.

Meng Hwei is the Finance Manager at Yuen Law LLC.
Meng Hwei has been an accounting professional for more than 20 years, with extensive experiences general accounting and internal control processes. Meng Hwei has served stints in local enterprises and MNCs.
Prior to joining Yuen Law, Meng Hwei was a finance and grant manager at a local charity organization where she helped to set up and streamline the reporting of the grant progress and financial report, while ensuring that internal controls are adhered to.
Integrity and trust are values she abides by. One of her favourite mottos is “Do not do unto others, what you do not want others to do unto you”. She also believes in continuous learning. These values and principles have helped her tremendously in her well-being and career growth.
Meng Hwei enjoys playing mahjong, board games, music related activities, outdoors and travel.

Valerie trained in general litigation and has prior experience with dispute resolution involving litigation, mediation and adjudication. As a Senior Associate with Yuen Law, she has assisted in advisory work for corporate issues as well as advising, drafting and reviewing of commercial agreements.
Valerie recognises that the law is a minefield and aims to help clients navigate that minefield by providing practical solutions to achieve their goals.

Jing Jie Loh is an Associate with Yuen Law’s corporate practice group and advises on general corporate and commercial matters with a particular focus on Financial Regulatory, Funds and Private Wealth.
He has acted for fund managers as well as family offices and assisted with the drafting of fund management documents for open-end and closed-end Private Equity and Venture Capital funds under the Variable Capital Companies (VCC) fund structure. He also advises payment service providers on licensing requirements under the Payment Services Act 2019 and assists with their application for a Major Payment Institution (MPI) or Standard Payment Institution (SPI) licence.
Prior to joining Yuen Law, Jing Jie was an in-house counsel at a Chinese-based blockchain start-up providing white-label and software services to cryptocurrency exchanges. During his time as a legal counsel, he regularly provides legal and regulatory support for the various business units including its’ custodial and non-custodial wallets, non-fungible tokens, liquidity staking, mining and real-world asset tokenisation services.
While pursuing his degree at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Jing Jie was the Public Relations Director in the Investment Relations committee at NUS Alumni Ventures, Southeast Asia’s first student run angel investment network.
He volunteers at Cyber Youth Singapore, a youth-led non-profit organisation, as Head of Legal, Secretariat and Compliance, managing a team of NUS and Singapore Management University law students to resolve legal issues within the charity, implement effective corporate governance procedures and advance Singapore’s digital future.
Jing Jie graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), with a minor in Political Science and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2023. He is proficient in business Mandarin and English.

Jolene is also experienced in various civil and commercial matters, in which her intellectual curiosity has served her well in engaging with the law.
To provide the most effective legal representation, Jolene works closely with her clients to better understand their needs. Through this, she is able to provide her clients with strategic solutions to achieve favourable outcomes in their best interest.

She has a strong focus in the practice of family law, having acted for and advised clients in a wide range of family-related matters, including, adoptions, divorces, deputyship, child abduction/relocation, maintenance-related applications, and matters under the Vulnerable Adults Act (VAA).
Hong Hui firmly believes in collaborative practice and therapeutic justice - espoused by the Family Courts of Singapore. She is protective of her clients’ interests and works hard to provide favourable outcomes, whether it involves working towards a settlement at a mediation or advancing her clients’ case in a contested court hearing. In her free time, Hong Hui enjoys crocheting.

Serene is a veteran of the conveyancing practice, with more than 30 years’ experience. Serene has variously been a member of the conveyancing practices of various large and medium sized Singapore law practices and has over the years gained a vast wealth of know-how in property transactions and documentation work.
A highly organised person, Serene is quietly effective and an indispensable asset in any property transaction. Her vast experience allows her to anticipate and pre-empt potential problems in each transaction. Serene excels particularly in supporting sale and purchase, redemption, refinancing and mortgage transactions.
In her free time, Serene ushers at her local church and serves with its local chapter of the Women’s Society of Christian Service. Serene also plays the ukulele as a member of a bluegrass band. Serene is a proud mother of 2 lovely young adults Cassandra and Ericson.

Riikka is our Business Development Manager (Foreign Desk).
Riikka has extensive experience in the international banking industry, specializing in fields such as corporate banking, compliance and management of share-based incentive schemes. Before joining Yuen Law, Riikka was in charge of the Danish customer portfolio in a Nordic bank where she helped to grow her customers’ business in Southeast Asia.
Inspired by the startup culture, Riikka is also responsible for the investor relations at Slush Singapore, an event and a movement developing the startup ecosystem in Singapore. The first event was held in September 2016 with over 2000 attendees, 160 investors and 200 startups participating.
Riikka is a Finn and a Singapore PR, and she has been calling the Little Red Dot her home for the past six years. She is also a board member of Finnish Business Council of Singapore, a position where she can support Nordic companies to expand their operations into Southeast Asian market. Riikka loves to travel to explore new cultures and cuisines. And in 2017 she will finally run that full marathon.

Singapore has been her home for eight years since she landed a job in one of the leading banks in the country prior to joining Yuen Law.
Tara is a team player with a strong work ethic, and has the aptitude to foster positive relationships. This allows her to deliver the highest level of customer service and to build long-lasting relationship with our clients.

He is also the go-to executive for a wide spectrum of our legal practice, including conveyancing and other real estate transactions, notarial services, as well as matters related to the Mental Capacity Act, such as Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Brendan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York in 2013. Thereafter, he travelled the world, living in Italy, the UK and Australia for some time before returning to Singapore.
Outside work, he enjoys family time, Theological discussions, Gregorian Chant, trying not to forget his Italian and playing with Leila – his Singapore Special.

Anastasia graduated from the University of Sheffield with an LLB (Hons) in 2018. Before joining Yuen Law, she gained valuable experience as a Senior Legal Executive in Civil Litigation. During her time studying in England, she fostered a deep appreciation for diversity, which applies both personally and professionally. Anastasia believes in the power of teamwork and collaboration, viewing diverse opinions as an opportunity to gain a broader perspective – an invaluable approach when working with clients from varied backgrounds and legal needs.
In her work, she is led by her empathy, demonstrating genuine care for her clients and striving to connect with them on a deeper level. Her attention to detail has allowed her to grow comfortable with procedural aspects about her work, ensuring a smooth and effective process for her clients. Caroline has worked and lived in many cities across the globe. In her early years, she grew up in Indonesia, and later, pursued an associate degree at the Borough Manhattan Community College in the state of New York. Having studied and worked in Indonesia, United States and Singapore for more than a decade, Caroline’s life experiences has taught her to appreciate diversity and culture.

Xiu Yi is a legal executive, and supports the Integrated Property Practice practice group, in conveyancing, intellectual property and insolvency matters.
Xiu Yi graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. Prior to joining Yuen Law, Xiu Yi worked in communications and marketing for a non-profit organisation and a private country club. She also enjoyed a productive stint at a food and beverage services company, in a supervisory role.
Proficient in English and Mandarin, Xiu Yi uses her communication skills to bridge the communication between our lawyers and clients. Xiu Yi is a big believer in teamwork and collaboration. She works closely with the team to help clients achieve a well-communicated goal. .

Prior to joining Yuen Law, Josephine was an Associate at PwC Legal Indonesia in Jakarta where she focused her practice on Capital Markets, Real Estate and Project Finance. She is fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia and speaks Mandarin Chinese conversationally.
Josephine pursued a higher degree at the University of Pennsylvania where she was awarded a Master of Laws. Led by her belief to ensure she approaches client matters holistically, Josephine also obtained a Wharton Business and Law Certificate.
Aside from building her professional career, Josephine spends her time singing with the Singapore Symphony Chorus, the performing choir of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

Melissa graduated from the Universiti Utara Malaysia with a Bachelor of Laws Second Class Honours (Upper) in 2020. Prior to joining Yuen Law, Melissa completed her pupillage at a medium sized conveyancing firm in Kulai, Johor, and was called to the Malaysian bar in 2021.
As a self-motivated and driven individual, Melissa embraces new challenges and seizes opportunities to learn and explore different practice areas in law.
Melissa is passionate about volunteer work. Her experience in serving the underprivileged and elderly has taught her to be a good listener and how to show care and concern for others, allowing her to connect with colleagues and clients better. .

While pursuing her Juris Doctor at the University of Western Australia, Perth, Meredith gained valuable experience across law firms in Perth, Australia, allowing her to have a first-hand taste of different practice areas, giving her a well-rounded foundation rooted in experience. She worked as a legal analyst in the Dispute teams at Herbert Smith Freehills in Perth prior to joining Yuen Law.
Meredith’s empathy-based approach leads her to ensure that clients feel comfortable with the firm, while her drive to expand her legal knowledge and experience pushes her to gain a deep understanding of clients’ legal needs in every corporate matter she handles.

Before joining Yuen Law, she commenced her legal journey at a law firm based in Kuala Lumpur where she focused on Conveyancing, Intellectual Property, and Corporate matters. Rachel was then called to the High Court of Malaya in 2022.
Within our Disputes Resolution Practice Group, Rachel assists with a wide range of Civil and Commercial Litigation cases.

Yunn graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a BA (Hons) in English Literature in 2022. Her deep-seated curiosity has led her to work at digital advertising agencies, disability support associations, the mobile gaming industry and built environment consultancies. She is fluent in English and speaks Mandarin and Burmese conversationally.
Yunn’s varied experience and perspectives enables her to support the Business Development Team at Yuen Law in their marketing efforts. As a digital native, she upkeeps the firm’s online presence, preparing content and fixing bugs, putting her full-stack web development knowledge to practice. Her belief in continuous improvement keeps on the lookout for opportunities to optimise, and her commitment to problem-solving locks her in when glitches arise.
She aligns her work philosophy with Marcus Aurelius, who once wrote in Meditations: “The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.” Or, as Yunn often says: “I’ll figure it out.”
