We congratulate Lim Fung Peen on this first-time recognition in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide. He advises high net worth clients on pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, contested divorce proceedings, and asset distribution, as well as child custody and maintenance matters involving cross-border families.
He recently advised a high net worth individual with an estimated net worth of USD 100 million on a bespoke prenuptial deed ahead of his marriage in Singapore. The matter required detailed structuring of future spousal and child maintenance obligations, including maintenance tiers tied to income levels and conditional thresholds, along with careful drafting to address enforceability should the couple relocate.
He also acted for the husband, a senior investment manager at a private equity firm, in a contested divorce involving a Canadian-governed prenuptial agreement and multi-jurisdictional assets. Relying on precedent giving weight to foreign prenuptial agreements signed by non-citizens, the firm secured favourable terms on custody, relocation and access, an asset division of 70:30 in the client’s favour after excluding premarital assets, and a 50% reduction in child maintenance from the wife’s initial estimate, with no maintenance awarded to her.
