We are pleased to announce that Nancy Thio, an accomplished legal practitioner with over a decade of experience, has joined our firm as an Affiliate Principal Senior Associate.
Nancy’s extensive expertise spans an array of legal fields, including family law, estate planning, corporate and commercial law, dispute resolution, debt recovery, enforcement proceedings, tenancy and MCST disputes, personal injury and motor accident claims, and criminal defence and plea mitigation.
Nancy’s professional approach to handling legal cases is grounded in her exceptional sensitivity, patience, and practicality. She is dedicated to her clients and committed to helping them achieve the best possible outcomes. Her proficiency in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Indonesia allows her to communicate effectively with clients from various cultural backgrounds.

Nancy began her legal career at some of Singapore’s most prominent law firms, where she specialised in corporate and commercial law, particularly in corporate finance, public listings, and general corporate matters. She has worked as an in-house legal counsel for American Express Bank, Tyco International, and Shell Singapore. Through her exposure to complex business transactions and operations in large corporations, she gained a broader perspective on stakeholder goals, standards, and risk management.
In 2018, Nancy shifted her focus to family law, with a particular emphasis on matrimonial cases, probate matters, and wills and trusts for legacy planning. Her empathetic and pragmatic approach helps her clients navigate the complexities of family dynamics, legal principles, and procedures. She has also represented clients in criminal defence cases, including plead-guilty mentions, plea mitigation, and trials against government agencies.
In addition to her legal career, Nancy is passionate about giving back to the community and sits on the board of two charities with Institution of Public Character (IPC) status: Wicare Support Group and the Children’s Cancer Foundation. She also volunteers her time and legal expertise to various pro bono initiatives and helms the legal clinic at her MP’s constituency’s Meet-the-People Sessions.
