P. Padman Serves as Course Convenor for the Law Society’s Inaugural Civil Appellate Advocacy Course

Yuen Law is pleased to share that Consultant P. Padman served as Course Convenor for The Law Society of Singapore’s inaugural Civil Appellate Advocacy Course 2026, held at Maxwell Chambers on 7 and 8 May 2026.

The course convened an exceptional faculty of local and international advocates and jurists, including a Justice of the Hong Kong Court of First Instance, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa, and King’s Counsel from Scotland and Australia. Twenty-four course participants gained insight into appellate advocacy and practice, with the programme culminating in a mock appeal heard and decided by a panel of judges.

Justice See Kee Oon, Judge of the Appellate Division of the High Court, opened the course and delivered the keynote address. Ahead of the course, two Senior Counsel conducted webinars on appellate practice; during the course itself, a further Senior Counsel led a masterclass on effective engagement with the bench.

Yuen Law is honoured to have supported this initiative, which reflects the profession’s continued commitment to excellence in advocacy and the development of appellate practice in Singapore.
