Whatever setback(s) you have suffered, whatever the struggles you face; whether in your work, your business or personal life – sure, it is as bad as you have assessed it to be.
This is not the end. This is a new beginning.
Today is a new beginning.
A new beginning for you, as you pick yourself up to handle the setback or continue your struggle. But what makes today different? Today, as you resume or restart, resolve to also bring about a change in your mindset and new paradigms. Here are some for your consideration
Relinquish – Let go of the problem, let God take over.
God created the world in 7 days. In a rather matter of fact, almost trivial way, it was stated in Genesis 1:16 that he made the stars, all 300,000,000,000 or so of them (estimated, according to accepted scientific convention). Yet God considers Man to be the culmination of His creation work, created in His own image. You were not created randomly. You are God’s creation and while He may not approve of what you did, He approves of you. He knows you even when you were in your mother’s womb. The Bible shows us that we are loved unconditionally, wholly and continually. Whatever the problem that is plaguing you, let God take over. Trust Him to do what is best for you.
Reprioritise and Refocus
Choose now to delight in God’s word, to make a habit of making God’s Word your ‘go-to’ and the lens through which you view the whole of things. For blessed is the one whose delight is in the law of the LORD and meditates on His law, daily and nightly. God has promised in His Word (Psalm 1:2-3) that the one who does so will be like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither either. Whatever that one does, that one prospers. God promises not happiness (which is subject to happenstance). He promises that by knowing Him and meditating on His Word, we will be blessed with fruitfulness and prosperity that is not fleeting and which leads to life.
Work was intended as a blessing and rest was never an option. Find time to rest from your labour and reset your love for what you do. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. It is only in stopping that we go further.
Re-solve your problems, even the un-solvable ones
No matter how dire your circumstances, God wants to bless you with that which matters above all else. Not Happy-ness, not even contentment, but the forgiveness of Sin and to bring you the Joy and Hope of His Love.
Remember, this is not the end. It is but a new beginning.
